I still have knitting projects going on, like a Log Cabin Blanket for my niece, my portable hexipuffs, and slowly wrapping up some WIPs, but I'm trying to not undertake anything huge for a bit.
So what Cross-Stitching could I be so content with, that I'm nearing the point of craft-monogamy?
The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery of course!
I was encouraged to start their Once Upon a Time StitchAlong for 2014 and fell down the rabbit-hole.
First came the Border.
I did the frames and then the beautiful decorative border of flowers, crowns, and mushrooms. I mostly stuck to the patter with a few tweaks. I have golden crowns I changed my text to Evey's favorite color (Purple), and My castles got some grey flagstone touches.
Next came January's Square.
Changes here include some accidental shifting here and there, Snow's blouse is Pink instead of White, her Disney dress is on the clothesline, and perhaps the most noticeable, are my little dwarves! This sampler will hang in my daughter's room when it's done so it's really important to me that she have a lot of input. She asked for Dopey and Grumpy and boy do I think I delivered! You'll notice a very "Disney" flavor to my sampler compared to the pattern.
Next we did February!
The only change we actually made was the Frog Princess herself! We toyed with adding a fork or a gumbo pot for Tiana but ultimately we agreed that just having Tiana herself was enough. Evey loves that Tiana looks just like her!
March is currently underway, but you can have a sneak peak of my Three Little Pigs if you ask nicely!
I've fallen so in love with with The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery that I bought five (Yes 5!!) more patterns and then went ahead and stockpiled all of the supplies for them!!
